MAIN STREET PASCAGOULA $2000 FACADE GRANT 

 Main Street Pascagoula will award Five Main Street Businesses up to $2,000 per business to encourage existing property owners to upgrade the facades of the buildings they occupy. The objective of this program is to improve the overall appearance of businesses within the Pascagoula Main Street District.

What is the Façade Grant Program? 

Main Street Pascagoula’s Façade Grant Program was developed to encourage existing property owners to upgrade the facades of buildings facing public streets. The objective of this program is to improve the overall appearance of the community in an effort to make it more appealing to consumers and potential investors. Nationwide, other cities have used this grant program with proven success that has resulted in significantly increased business revenues, increased property values and renewed civic pride. Each grant will not exceed $2,000. 

Who is eligible to participate in the program? 

  • Businesses located within the Pascagoula Main Street District (see attached map) with fewer than 50 employees may apply. 

  • Applicants must be property owners operating retail businesses, restaurants, service establishments or offices. 

  • Properties must be up-to-date on all city taxes (including property tax and the City’s Business License) prior to participation in the grant program. 

  • Applicants must comply with all state and local laws and regulations pertaining to licensing and permits.

Guidelines :

  1. Main Street Pascagoula grant application must be completed and submitted to Main Street electronically or typed hard copy. 

  2. Applications should be typed and emailed to mainstreetpascagoula@gmail.com. You will receive a delivery confirmation within five business days of receipt. 

  3. Application gives permission for Main Street Pascagoula, Board and Design committee to visit the business for evaluation. 

  4. The decisions of the judging committee will be final. 

  5. As a condition of the grant award, Recipient must photograph or film its business before and after the project is completed, for purposes of documenting the grant expenditures. Recipient will not be compensated for this photography or film and all photos may be used without restriction to promote Pascagoula Main Street. Recipient must provide receipts to the Main Street office located at 618 Delmas Avenue for services rendered. 

  6. To be eligible for the Main Street Pascagoula Façade Grant Program, applicants must be located in the Main Street District with fewer than 50 employees. 

  7. Submitting to the Façade Grant Program means that you comply with the Façade Grant Program Policy (see below). If you have any questions, please contact Main Street at 228-219-1114. 

 

Façade Grant Program Policy  

Main Street Pascagoula Design committee will review and determine eligibility of all applications. Grants are awarded at the discretion of the judges. The Main Street Design committee must approve all applications, and it must conform to established guidelines. If approved, applicants understand that all work performed is subject to development standards, and business owners are solely responsible for obtaining all building and property codes, and permit requirements. 

Applicant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Main Street, its successors and assigns from and against any and all third party claims, damages, liabilities, cost and expenses, including reasonable legal fees and expenses arising out of a related to Recipient’s use of the grant funds and any other obligations and representations under this Agreement. 

By submitting this application, applicants certify that the information in this application is true, complete and accurate to the best of the applicant’s knowledge. Applicants are aware that information will be kept confidential. The selection will be final when announced, and the selection of the grant recipients is at the sole discretion of the judging committee.
